This year with a new CK album on the horizon we're stuck between compromising on our vision to save money or doubling down to commit to something great. Needless to say if you know us at all we want to achieve the later and we never back down. We were up to absolutely no good from Sept. 4th-21st 😈 You know how it is when u got inner demons and such Thank you to everyone who came out to watch us play in AZ, NM, CO, UT, ID, WA, OR and Northern Cali and SoCal, who let us crash at your place and cuddle with your cats, fed us, bought our merch, said nice things, treated us like family, just everything!!!! Cosmic Kitten is a San Pedro–based quartet blending alternative rock, post-grunge, and punk into a sound that is as emotionally raw as it is sonically explosive. Known for their intense live performances and deeply introspective lyricism, the band has built a loyal following drawn to authenticity, vulnerability, and unfiltered expression.

Formed in 2016, Cosmic Kitten has grown into a collaborative force within the Los Angeles and Orange County underground scenes. At the forefront is Karen Marie (she/they) on guitar and vocals, guiding listeners through a dynamic emotional spectrum—shifting from soft, intimate reflections to visceral, cathartic screams—anchored by bright, fuzz-soaked guitar work. Drummer Zach Huckabee (he/they) delivers a powerful rhythmic backbone, combining precision and aggression with an undeniable sense of groove. Lilith Vermillion (she/they) brings depth and movement through punchy, melodic bass lines, while John Chavez (he/him) reinforces the band’s sonic weight with driving rhythm guitar and heavy, unrelenting riffs.

Together, Cosmic Kitten crafts a seamless fusion of ‘90s grunge grit and modern alternative urgency. The band has independently released five full-length albums, including You Gotta Understand, recorded by Ulysses Noriega (best known for his work on Smash by The Offspring). They have shared stages with influential acts such as Redd Kross, The Dickies, Alice Bag, Avengers, Vivian Girls, and Mike Watt, while self-booking tours across the United States and United Kingdom.

Their 2023 release, Laugh of a Lifetime, was recorded by Pedro Mancillas and Steve Moriarty (The Gits) and mastered by legendary producer Jack Endino (Nirvana’s Bleach), further cementing the band’s connection to the lineage of grunge and punk.

Their self-titled LP, Cosmic Kitten (Released October 2025)—their fifth full-length and first release on San Francisco’s Psyched! Records—marks a new chapter for the band. The album explores themes of existential unrest, emotional isolation, and the tension between vengeance and healing. Across its tracks, moments of confusion and self-reflection collide with a persistent drive toward growth, transforming anger into a source of resilience and empowerment.

The record began taking shape following the release of their single “Your Insult” in September 2024. While touring in support of Laugh of a Lifetime, the band caught the attention of Psyched! Records and quickly signed with the label. What began as a collection of unfinished ideas evolved into a fully realized body of work, driven by renewed focus and personal transformation within the band.

Cosmic Kitten enlisted Alex Edkins (METZ) to produce the record, alongside engineer Ben Greenberg (Uniform), recording at Kingsize Soundlabs in Los Angeles. The album was mixed by Graham Walsh and mastered once again by Jack Endino—bringing the band’s raw, nostalgic edge into sharp, modern focus.

More than a backing project for any one member, Cosmic Kitten stands as a fully unified creative force—continuing to carve out their place as one of the most compelling and emotionally resonant bands in the Southern California underground.
